Officine Borsari, founded in 1977 as CBM, manufactures medium-light carpentry with laser-cutting on behalf of a third party (also when cutting thick material: up to stainless steel and aluminium 10 mm and iron 20 mm thick), punching, bending, calendering, automatic & manual welding, other mechanical processings, surface treatments as varnishing, galvanizing, assembling.
Time for choosing
The management aimed to cut costs related to nitrogen to feed up the 3 Trumpf laser-cutting machines (one LaserPiano 4000W and 2 LaserTubo) and to make easier the logistic supplying of gas.
And above all they want to become independent from gas suppliers.
The choice is Claind!
After having used cylinder racks, the company decided to change way of supplying: the choice was between renting a reservoir for liquid nitrogen or buying a nitrogen generator.
After an evaluation, the choice was for the generator: the solution with liquid nitrogen would have not changed the reliance on external suppliers.
Next step was choosing the generator: Claind with LASER CUT 225-2 seemed to be the best for its technical features and also for its compactness, that allows the installation inside the plant.
Discovered benefits:
• a cut on stainless steel completely clear also on 10 mm metal sheet
• the sizing was set also for the automatic cuttings: the generator was able to assist the automatically set thick/sheet cutting of the Trumpf machine
• a very low payback, if compared to the previous kind of supplying: just a couple of years
• relevant cost effectiveness, although several local gas suppliers were really close to the company
